Writing the Discovery document
Use this template to discuss the topic of legal discovery issues. If you want to describe scientific discoveries use Proposal Pack’s Discoveries template. The term "discovery" generally refers to the right of each side in court case to examine documents and witnesses that will be presented for the opposing side’s case. Introduce the importance of legal discovery to your organization and if needed define the term for your readers. For example if your company has been named in lawsuit it is important to educate your personnel about the court process and clarify the specific types of information the opposition has right to obtain. Discoverable Information Describe information that the opposing side has legal right to see. You may also want to tell staff members how and when they may be contacted and instruct them about the proper procedures to follow at that time. Privileged Information
Describe privileged information that the opposing side has no legal right to see. This may include communications that fall under attorney client privilege medical records information that will violate laws of self incrimination and so forth. You may also want to instruct staff members about the proper procedures to follow if they are asked for privileged information. Notes Insert any other important information here.
