Writing the Packaging document

Use the Packaging template to describe the packaging you are proposing to use for your project. Packaging can have many goals. For example you may want to describe how your packaging is all recyclable to qualify your company or your product as green choice. For fragile items that must travel long distances youll want to describe how durable your packaging is and how it protects the items within the package. Some packaging types might contain security or tracking devices or anti piracy protection so that the product and package cant be copied. Certain types of packaging have special requirements for consumer safety such as required warnings or lists of ingredients or tamper proof containers to prevent easy opening. Packaging considerations must also include discussion of how the packages will be presented. package may include advertising and pricing information on the outside and assembly or usage instructions either outside or inside. Packages may be designed to fit into specific types of displays. For example many retail products are enclosed in thermoform packages plastic that is molded to item such as clamshells and blister packs with slots to hang multiple packages on display rack hooks. You may want to offer different packaging options to your clients depending on other choices they make such as numbers of items packed into larger container or distance traveled etc. See also the Shipping and Handling templates included with Proposal Pack you may need to use those pages in your proposal as well. Introduce the topic of packaging here and explain its importance to your proposal then go on to describe the packaging options below. If you are describing different packages for multiple items you may want to group the package descriptions below by item name or type. You might also want to insert pictures or diagrams of examples of each package type. Package Type #1 here e. g. " Blister Pack " " Clamshell " " Cardboard box" Insert description of package here including all relevant details composition of packaging materials special symbols or barcodes needed on packaging manufacturer of packaging packaging methods display options description of how package is opened and closed disposal methods shipping requirements package cost etc. You may also need to discuss who writes or translates inserts and package text and labels schedules for printing and so forth. Package Type #2 here Insert description of package here including all relevant details composition of packaging materials special symbols or barcodes needed on packaging manufacturer of packaging packaging methods display options description of how package is opened and closed disposal methods shipping requirements package cost etc. You may also need to discuss who writes or translates inserts and package text and labels schedules for printing and so forth. Summarize the packaging discussion here and specify the next step to take if any. Does the customer need to make choice between options or approve your packaging plan. Are you offering guarantee of no damage because of superior packaging design. Will you develop package prototype to show the customer.
